TOO MANY nights recently have been ruined by snorers.

Earplugs are a futile defense.

I think it's inconsiderate that known snorers don't make more effort to address the issue. Let's face it, it would benefit them also, since snoring prevents the "good" sort of deep sleep.

This led me to discover one of the best words ever.

A less drastic solution is a nose clip such as swimmers use to keep their nose shut, but instead used in reverse to keep the airway open. One older australian guy i shared a room with snored awfully the first night, but apologised and put in his nose clip the next - and silence reigned.

This rant was triggered by strangers in youth hostels, but DAD you could also take note.

so in the last week i have:
Avoided the pressure to convert to Mormonism
Driven on a 100 mile long road with only 3 bends total (to the salt flats)
Got lots of electric shocks
Met several germans of varying stereotypacy
Found somewhere to buy Marmite
Picked up my first hitchhiker
Been snowboarding on an empty mountain
The guy crossing the road behind me got run over. that was traumatic. A swedish tourist, alive but critical
A 15 hour overnight train journey
Heard someone say i look like Shaggy (from Scooby Doo i assume)
Seen two of my favourite bands play live
Seen a lunar eclipse
Been surfing for the first time (and swum in the Pacific)
Met many interesting people....

i'm too tired to elaborate on anything unless anybody actually wants to know.
